HARVEST — Gratitude & Letting Go
A Women’s Ceremony with Rose • Cacao • Blue Lotus
Sunday 18 October · 10am–1pm
Ashton Court, Bristol
A morning of movement, ritual, plant wisdom, sound and deep rest, held within the beautiful historic spaces and ancient grounds of Ashton Court.
As we move into autumn, Harvest is an invitation to honour what has ripened, give gratitude for what has been, and gently release what is ready to fall away.
Working with the beautiful plant allies of Rose, Ceremonial Cacao and Blue Lotus, we will journey through yoga, embodied movement, pranayama, mantra, meditation and ritual — exploring the meeting place between action and receptivity, strength and softness, gratitude and letting go.
There are moments when life asks us to step forward with courage and intention, and others when we are invited to soften, listen and receive. Together we will create space for both: moving through the body before gradually journeying towards stillness, anointing, sound and deep rest.
Yoga offers us a way back to what is essential. Through breath, movement and presence, we begin to unravel some of the tension, complexity and stories we carry — creating space for greater clarity, softness and wellbeing. The practice does not ask us to become something else, but gently dissolves some of the barriers between ourselves and the deeper sense of aliveness already within us.
There is something especially beautiful about practising in spaces that invite us to slow down and pay attention. Through movement, music, sound, nature and elements of ceremony, the practice can become more than physical — a place to listen, feel, restore and reconnect. Whether within a weekly class or a longer ceremonial gathering, these experiences offer a pause from the momentum of everyday life and an opportunity to return to ourselves with greater spaciousness and presence.
For me, this is part of the enduring beauty of yoga: it can meet us exactly where we are, while quietly opening the possibility of something more — greater freedom in the body, clarity in the mind, softness in the heart, and a deeper sense of connection to ourselves and the world around us.

Yoga & the Plant Allies
Yoga and the plants share a deeply interwoven relationship — each inviting us beyond the surface of ourselves and into a more intimate relationship with the loving spirit within and around us. Rose, Cacao and Blue Lotus have long been held in ritual, prayer and contemplation, and here we meet them with reverence: listening for the exceptional wisdom, subtle healing qualities and insight they may awaken within us. Woven through yoga, breath, mantra, meditation and sound, their presence becomes part of the ceremony — Rose as heart medicine, Cacao as warmth and connection, and Blue Lotus as a symbol of clear seeing, intuition and expanded awareness. Together, movement and plant ritual create a space to soften the heart, quieten the noise, listen more deeply and remember the sacredness woven through ordinary life.
Ashton Court is an ancient landscape, shaped by centuries of human lives, old woodland, gardens and trees — some standing for more than 700 years.
To gather here is to enter a place with both beauty and a complex ancestral history.
We meet the land with awareness and gratitude: honouring what has come before, while recognising our responsibility for what we choose to cultivate now.
Through prayer, movement, flowers, sound and ceremony, we offer our own small thread to its continuing story — an intention towards healing, connection and conscious action.
What have we inherited?
What are we ready to release?
What will we choose to sow?
