Yoga Retreat

With Fay Rosamond.

Friday 4pm to Sunday 8pm
(Family, Partners, Children and Dogs welcome)

"How do you live your yoga practice? Start small. Make a commitment. Follow through. Keep doing it until it works for you. Test it out - don't just do a practice in your room. Try it in real-life situations. You can bring the practices into whatever you do - cooking, gardening, driving your car, working, being with people. An ordinary life infused with practice becomes a meaningful life” Swami Radhananda

I am excited to announce this beautiful yoga retreat. Luxury accommodation in part of a beautiful Manor House with a mixture of 4 posters bed, ornate French beds and hand painted headboards, designers guild curtains and hand printed wallpapers. The bedrooms are beautiful with stone windows looking out to the garden full of books for some light reading before you sleep on crisp, white cotton sheets. We will have beautiful organic local vegan food cooked onsite to explore cleansing the body and detoxifying.  The yoga will held in this beautiful wooden panelled ballroom, with a log burner and piano. If it's especially sunny in May we will be able to do some yoga on the lawns with the beautiful old trees. We are also exploring bringing our own mobile sauna that we can take to the seaside for early morning, and evening dips in the sea between the sauna sessions.

We will have two three hour yoga sessions a day that will involve vinyasa yoga into restorative yoga, then sound. The sequence and journey throughout the weeknd will be designed to provide a solid container to take you deeply into states of rest, restore and relaxation. This aims to be a rejuvenating retreat, leaving you feeling inspired, invigorated, grounded, settled and in touch with your vision for your life.
This is a retreat, a treat, a place of beauty, that you can explore your inner beauty.  A place to create memories and give space to who you are without the normal external demands on you. A opportunity to reset and connect to your heart, to re-create the life you didn't realised you imagined until you had the space to feel it.
Space to feel, and to be. This is where the magic unfolds.

Stop learning.
Start knowing.
The rose opens
And opens
And when it falls
Falls outward.

From Fay

The asana practice will vary throughout the weekend with a mixture of Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga, and will take you on a journey to explore anatomical alignment, breath work and deep rest in the sound healings. This distilling process of slowing down on retreat (body/mind/emotion) then working with the form (the body), allows us shift into more subtle states of experience; the feeling of formless, merging with the divine as we articulate the body with awareness and breath, to experience a inner arch of beauty, formlessness, and freedom.

  • "A truly immersive experience that is difficult to describe with mere words. An invitation to explore all aspects of yourself and your practice more deeply. These retreats have real soul and spirit and bring out our ability to create connected loving community. A beautiful gift to yourself that goes above and beyond your expectations"

  • "I absolutely loved this weekend, it was a truly magical three days. I felt like we had all been transported to another country. Fay holds the space in such a way that feels so special and sacred. She gives care and attention and love to everything she does which makes you feel so well held and cared for. Inspiring, thought-provoking, extraordinary. I learnt so much and came away feeling alive, energised and truly invigorated."

  • "Peaceful, relaxed mind and energised body, that's how I felt after a Yoga lesson with Fay. I tried a different Yogi this last year, but the way that she guides you in discovering your body, and your breath and challenging you to overcome your limits, and trusting in your body is unique and definitely the most effective that I tried so far. Bless you, Fay, amazing light worker!"

  • "Challenge, beautiful, spiritual... her classes are everything!"

  • "Fay’s classes are truly unique and something to experience"

  • "Out-of-this-world experience, every time, so nourishing for the body and mind - would recommend to everybody"

Fay has been holding yoga retreats since 2012. She feels they offer a deepening of connection and presence within the yoga practice, and can be a real treat with good vegan food, sauna, nature walks and space to rest. Fay holds a ceremonial space over the weekend that gives it a extra beautiful quality of detailed decorative flower altars, fires and sometime live musicians (cello, harp and violin)as well as herself. Usually there will be a Philosophical theme running throughout the weekend that will guide the exploration of the space between our inner and outer worlds; to help shift focus, energy and feeling.

Example of a days schedule.

Class 8am - 11am

Break 11am-12pm

Lunch 12 pm

Break 1pm-4pm

Class 4pm - 7pm

Dinner 7pm-8pm

Rest 8pm - onwards.

Different offerings will be available in the breaks, walks, sitting, reading, writing, wood sauna (depending on location), exploration of the local area and rest time to enable us to integrate the practice.

Organic vegan food will be prepared onsite for lunch and dinner. Breakfast will be a variety of fruits, cereals and porridge.

Usually we have a therapist available that you can book one to one sessions with, which is a great way to help facilitate a shift energy, or to help you relax and go deeper into the retreat.

Fay teaches a mixture of Vinyasas into restorative yoga in the evenings, with the use of props (bolsters/bricks/belts) to help the body unravel, rest and relax. The postures are held in a comfortable non-active position supported by props for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. There is a particular focus on on the breath, comfort, warmth and rest to support the parasympathetic nervous system (relaxed state) to engage which is key to regulated bodily systems health and general well being. Fay teaches a Vinyasa Yoga class which to her means to move dynamically with the breath, in a devotional way, with the body being an altar, to honour and respect, while placing awareness and acknowledgement of feeling down the central axis of the spine. In a retreat setting the sequence will be structured in a way to create opening and ease, but also will feel accessible to all. If you haven’t done much yoga before this won’t be a problem as this retreat is open to all abilities. Fay will give different options to honour what you might need that session and aims to create a safe space that allows you to go deep within the practice at the level you feel you are at.
